Rajkumar Hirani co-wrote the screenplay for the 2006 Hindi-language satirical comedy-drama Lage Raho Munna Bhai with Abhijat Joshi. Vidhu Vinod Chopra served as the film's producer. It is the sequel to the 2003 movie Munna Bhai M B B S, starring Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in the roles of the Mumbai underworld don Munna Bhai and his sidekick Circuit. In place of Gracy Singh from the first movie, Vidya Balan plays the female lead. A few additional actors from the first movie, most notably Jimmy Sheirgill and Boman Irani, also make cameo appearances in new roles.
