THE HOIA-BACIU FOREST:
THE “BERMUDA
TRIANGLE OF ROMANIA”
The Hoia-Baciu Forest, often dubbed the "Bermuda Triangle
of Romania," is a place steeped in mystery and paranormal claims. Located
near Cluj-Napoca, Transylvania, this dense forest has a chilling reputation
that draws thrill-seekers and paranormal investigators from around the globe.
One of the most striking features of the Hoia-Baciu Forest is its
strangely shaped trees. Many of the trees grow in unusual, twisted, and gnarled
patterns, with some trunks spiraling in bizarre ways. This abnormal growth
contributes to the forest's eerie, almost otherworldly atmosphere.
Locals who live near the forest often speak of strange noises emanating from within—disembodied whispers, unexplained rustling, and even ghostly laughter. Many refuse to enter, fearing the malevolent spirits or unknown forces said to reside there. Those who dare to venture into the Hoia-Baciu Forest often report experiencing unsettling physical symptoms. Nausea, vomiting, intense anxiety, exhaustion, and unexplained rashes or scratches are commonly cited by visitors. It's as if the very air inside the forest affects their well-being.
The forest is also famous for a clearing known as "The Poiana
Rotunda" or "The Round Glade." This circular area is often cited
as a hotspot for paranormal activity. Despite the dense surrounding forest,
nothing seems to grow in this perfectly circular patch of ground, leading to
speculation about its mystical properties.
