**Gangsters vs. Bull Sharks in a Deadly 1940s Showdown**

In 1946 Australia, a team of professional divers is hired to retrieve a sunken car from a remote river—only to find themselves hunted by a vicious bull shark. But the real danger isn’t just in the water. When the divers realize their employers are ruthless criminals seeking stolen gold, they must survive both the predators below and the treachery above.

Starring Hermione Corfield, Jake Ryan, John McConville, Jacob Junior Nayinggul, Arthur Angel, and Maximillian Johnson. Fear Below, is directed by Matthew Holmes from a script co-written with Gregory Moss.

This isn’t your typical schlocky shark flick—*Fear Below* delivers far more than expected. While the premise may sound familiar means criminals hiring divers to retrieve sunken loot, unaware they’re also shark bait, the execution elevates it. The tension is sharp, the pacing tight, and the payoff satisfying. You know the beats, but the ride is so well-crafted, you’ll enjoy every second.

What sets *Fear Below* apart from other shark thrillers? Its 1940s period setting, claustrophobic locations, and a strong cast—both familiar and fresh—lend it a unique edge. Director Holmes understands restraint, keeping the shark’s appearances minimal for maximum impact. And crucially, when the beast does strike, it looks terrifyingly real—no cheap CGI here. Unlike many shark films that struggle to justify why anyone would dive into danger, this one makes the stakes brutally clear: dive or die.

*Fear Below* arrives on **Digital Platforms May 19** and **DVD June 9**, courtesy of **Signature Entertainment**.

**Verdict:** A lean, mean thriller that sinks its teeth in deep. Don’t miss it.
