"Parasakthi" is an eagerly anticipated Tamil-language political period drama directed by Sudha Kongara, featuring a stellar cast including Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela, who makes her Tamil debut with this film. The film is produced by Dawn Pictures, with music composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar in his 100th film as a composer.

 

The film's teaser, released on January 29, 2025, offers a glimpse into an intense and grand period drama, showcasing Sivakarthikeyan in a powerful new avatar. The narrative appears to delve into significant political themes, promising a compelling storyline that reflects the socio-political landscape of its setting.

 

The production of "Parasakthi" commenced on December 14, 2024, at Binny Mills in Chennai, with initial sequences featuring Sivakarthikeyan and Ravi Mohan. The film's producer, Aakash Baskaran, has indicated that filming will be extensive across various locations in Tamil Nadu, including planned schedules in Puducherry and Chidambaram, with an expected completion by June or July 2025.

 

The film's soundtrack is a significant highlight, marking G.V. Prakash Kumar's milestone 100th project. The composer has collaborated with notable lyricists such as Yugabharathi, Ekadesi, Arivu, Kaber Vasuki, and Jayashree Mathimaran to craft five songs for the film. Recording sessions began with a track featuring Dhee as the lead singer, setting high expectations for the musical score.

 

"Parasakthi" is slated for a theatrical release in the second half of 2025 and will be available in both Tamil and Telugu languages. The film has garnered significant attention, not only for its impressive cast and crew but also due to a title dispute with another project by Vijay Antony. The issue was amicably resolved, allowing Sivakarthikeyan's team to retain the title for both Tamil and Telugu versions, while Vijay Antony's film adopted new titles for its Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu releases.

 

As the release date approaches, "Parasakthi" is poised to be a landmark film in Tamil cinema, offering audiences a blend of powerful performances, a compelling narrative, and a memorable musical experience.
