CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD - MOVIE REVIEW / MARVEL STUDIO'S PRODUCTION

MOVIE RATING IS 4 OUT OF 10.

*Captain America: Brave New World* falls far short of expectations, delivering a lackluster experience that fails to live up to the legacy of its predecessors. Anthony Mackie’s portrayal of Sam Wilson as the new Captain America lacks the charisma and depth needed to carry the mantle, coming across as wooden and uninspired. His performance makes it hard to connect with his character’s journey, and the inclusion of his sidekick, the new Falcon, feels forced and forgettable—so much so that his name barely registers.

Harrison Ford, typically a commanding presence, seems disengaged in his role as Thaddeus Ross. His performance feels phoned in, as if he’s merely collecting a paycheck. Additionally, casting an actor in his 80s for a character meant to be reinvigorated and dynamic raises questions about the film’s creative decisions. Ford’s lack of energy further drags down the already struggling narrative.

The story itself is a jumbled mess, attempting to blend political intrigue with superhero action but excelling at neither. The plot is convoluted, relying on tired tropes without offering anything fresh or coherent. The pacing is uneven, with slow, dragging scenes where excitement should thrive and rushed moments that gloss over potential emotional depth. The result is a film that feels disjointed and unsatisfying.

The action sequences, a staple of the superhero genre, are equally disappointing. They lack creativity and fail to generate any real tension or thrill, coming off as tedious rather than exhilarating. The film’s primary antagonist, a character with immense potential, is wasted and underutilized. This is especially frustrating given how effectively the character was portrayed in other media, such as *Earth’s Mightiest Heroes*, where he was a genuinely menacing threat.

To make matters worse, the visual effects are subpar, with many scenes looking blatantly artificial and unconvincing. The cinematography does little to elevate the film, offering no memorable or striking visuals to leave an impression.

In the end, *Captain America: Brave New World* is a forgettable entry in the MCU. It struggles to balance its ambitious themes, delivers lackluster performances, and fails to deliver the excitement and coherence expected from a superhero film. Save your time and money—this one isn’t worth the watch.
