"Ash" is an upcoming American science fiction horror-thriller film directed by Flying Lotus, (Steven Ellison), marking his directorial debut. The screenplay, penned by Jonni Remmler, features a compelling cast including Eiza González, Aaron Paul, Iko Uwais, Beulah Koale, Kate Elliott, and Flying Lotus himself. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States on March 21, 2025.

 

Set on a distant planet named Ash, the narrative centers on Riya (portrayed by Eiza González), who awakens to discover that her entire space station crew has been brutally murdered. As she grapples with the horrifying scene, Brion (played by Aaron Paul) arrives, claiming to be her rescuer. However, by March 2023, Aaron Paul and Eiza González were confirmed to replace them, bringing their unique dynamics to the project. Filming commenced in May 2023 in New Zealand, a location renowned for its diverse and cinematic landscapes, which likely enhances the film's atmospheric tension. In a significant distribution move, Amazon Prime Video acquired the international rights to "Ash" in February 2024.
