"DIRTY ANGELS" - MOVIE REVIEW / A GRITTY TALE OF FEMALE VALOR.

 

"Dirty Angels," directed by Martin Campbell, is a 2024 American action thriller that delves into the harrowing mission of an all-female commando unit during the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. Seeking redemption, Jake is tasked with leading a covert operation to rescue a group of schoolgirls kidnapped by terrorists. Disguised as a medical relief unit, Jake's team comprises skilled women, each bringing unique expertise to the mission. On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a 32% approval rating based on 19 reviews, indicating a range of responses from critics.  Some reviewers praise the film's premise and action sequences but note shortcomings in character development and narrative depth. For instance, a review from Midgard Times states, "Despite the intriguing premise and a cast of strong female characters, 'Dirty Angels' falters in execution... The film takes an unnecessarily long time to establish its central conflict, which undermines its potential for tension."
