"Daaku Maharaaj" is a 2025 Indian Telugu-language period action masala film directed by Bobby Kolli. The movie features Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role, with Bollywood actor Bobby Deol making his Telugu debut as the antagonist. The plot of "Daaku Maharaaj" is set in 1996 and follows philanthropist Krishnamurthy and his granddaughter Vaishnavi, who are threatened by criminals involved in illegal activities on their tea estate. Former dacoit leader Sitaram, known as Daaku Maharaaj, secretly protects them, revealing his past and fighting off the attackers. The story includes flashbacks to 1992, detailing Maharaaj's transformation from an engineer to a dacoit after his village was destroyed by corrupt landlords. He exposes their illegal activities and fights for justice, leading to the closure of their mines and the construction of a dam. In 1996, Maharaaj learns that Vaishnavi is his late wife's daughter and avenges her death by defeating the criminals.

 

The film's soundtrack includes singles like "The Rage of Daaku," released on December 14, 2024, and "Chinni," released on December 23, 2024. Promotional activities included the release of the first glimpse on March 8, 2024, a second glimpse on Balakrishna's birthday on June 10, 2024, and the film's title teaser on November 15, 2024. The trailer was launched at a pre-release event in Dallas, Texas, on January 4, 2025.
