“Triangle Of Sadness”

Movie Review

"Triangle of Sadness" is a satirical black comedy written by Ruben Östlund and starring Harris Dickinson, Charlby Dean, Dolly de Leon, Slatko Burik, Henrik Dorcin, Vicky Berlin, and Woody Harrelson.

Triangle of Sadness is a visceral and scathingly hilarious takedown of models, influencers, and wealth hoarders and while it threatens to buckle under its lofty ambitions, its three-act story becomes the most deranged episode of Below Deck Bravo wishes they could have produced.

Carl played by Harris Dickinson and Yaya played by Charlby Dean are fashion models. They are in a relationship because they follow each other on social media. When she succeeds considerably, they argue about money and gender roles. They are invited for a free luxury cruise on a super yacht in exchange for promoting it on social media. Among the wealthy guests were Russian aristocrats Dmitri and his wife Vera; Clementine and Winston, an old couple who built weapons that made their fortune; Therese, who can only speak one German sentence following a stroke; And reclusive tech billionaire Jarmo. While guests relax on the boat, their every need and whim is catered to under the leadership of crew chief of staff Paula, who complies with guests' often ridiculous demands, including having each crew member jump aboard. Meanwhile, the boat's captain, Thomas Smith, spends his time drinking in his cabin.
